About Us
Premiers history began in April 1996 when Peter & Denise Slattery purchased Premier service station in Oxide Street Broken Hill ran by son Ray Slattery.
Originally operating as a service station our association with tyres began at this time repairing tyres & fitting mostly retread car tyres.
Over the coming years the demand for tyres grew to the point where we decided to close the service station & begin trading as Premier Independent Tyres concentrating only on Tyres.
In January 2000 we began fitting truck tyre onsite & off site servicing heavy haulage & earthmoving companies.
Once the decision to concentrate on tyres was made the business went from strength to strength with growing staff & expanding customer base.
Since 2006
Since 2006 Premier Independent Tyres in partnership with Michelin Australia has services the fleet of BSL trucks carting mineral sands for Cristal mining from The Ginko/Snapper mines to the MSP plant here in Broken Hill.
Premier Tyres are now a leading dealer of many top brands including Michelin, BF Goodrich, Kumho, Toyo, Mickey Thompson & Dunlop Tyres.
With 3 fully fitted out mobile fitting vehicles Premier are available for all Tyre fitting needs from wheelbarrow tyres to heavy earthmoving tyres.
In 2014 Premier after many years of being a Kumho tyre retailer signed on to be an exclusive Kumho Platinum dealer one of many throughout Australia our store was given a facelift & new & exciting products & promotions began.
In 2015 at a gala dinner in Adelaide South Australia Premier Independent Tyres was award Dealer of the year for South Australia.
Mildura
In January 2018 the next big step was taken with the opening of our 2nd store in Mildura Victoria.
The store located at 6-8 Tenth Street Mildura is like the Broken Hill store a Kumho Platinum Dealer selling all the big brands.
The Mildura store will give Premier a greater area to move our products to a larger cutomer base giving us a greater buying power to pass on discounted rates to our customers.
The store much like the Broken Hill shop offer Tyre wheels & batteries Mechanical Services & Wheel Alignments Car Audio & Communication equipment.
